Two friends who died when an angling trip ended in tragedy off the coast at Selsey have been named by police.
John Stokes, 54, of Ursula Avenue, and David Calvert, 58, of Grafton Road, both Selsey, died after their dinghy overturned off Selsey Bill on Wednesday.
A major sea search was launched after a 999 call from a holidaymaker on the beach who spotted the pair in difficulty when their boat capsized just 75m from shore.
One of the men was pulled unconscious from the waves by Selsey lifeboat just after 3pm.
He was given first aid on the beach and taken to hospital in Chichester but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The other was found four hours later by a fisherman.
