Murder squad detectives are continuing to question two men arrested after a man was found dead at an all-night party.
The men, aged 20 and 18, are being quizzed about the death at a flat in Halland Road, Moulsecoomb.
Magistrates yesterday gave detectives a 36-hour extension to continue questioning the pair .
Police have still not named the dead man, in his 30s, whose body was discovered on a sofa at the Halland Road flat at about midday on Sunday.
A post mortem examination was carried out the same day but police said they still did not know what caused the man's death.
Detectives hope to identify the dead man's next of kin later today from information at his central Brighton flat.
Music had been playing all night at the second-storey council flat in Moulsecoomb where the man's body was found, neighbours said.
An ambulance had been called at 1am on Sunday when a man's nose was broken in a fight.
Paramedics were called to the flat a second time at about midday.
The man was unconscious on a sofa and died later.
Detective Chief Inspector Martin Underhill, leading the investigation, said: "We are still interested in talking to anyone who was in Halland Road late on Saturday night and early Sunday morning.
"There are clearly people we have yet to speak to."
