John Parry thinks McDonalds is "ruthlessly targeting the children's market"? (The Argus, Aug 30).

Surely all it is doing is reinvesting some of its profits in areas of social deprivation? It could just spend the money on a load of expensive advertising but, with some thought and encouragement, it has contributed some money towards Unicef.

With low government taxes meaning less money in the coffers from private individuals, corporate sponsorship is surely something charities should support and encourage.
