A cat named after The Argus has been saved for the second time by the newspaper.
The black and white puss was found near The Level, Brighton, yesterday after an appeal in the paper.
Although very skinny, Argus was otherwise well and pleased to see his owner Sharon Spencer.
She had distributed more than 2,000 posters in the neighbourhood after her pet went missing but she received no calls.
She said: "I want to say a very big thank you to The Argus and the woman who found her.
"Unfortunately, she did not give her name, as I would have liked to have given her a bunch of flowers.
"When Argus saw me, his eyes lit up. I couldn't be happier."
This was the second time Argus has had his life saved by the newspaper.
He got his name after Sharon, of Belgrave Street, Brighton, found the tiny kitten and his twin brother Ken abandoned in a box of rubbish three years ago.
Sharon said: "I heard some meowing from behind the bins and found the noises coming from a box.
"There were two kittens inside - looking the worse for wear - and I took them home.
"Argus was a lot smaller than Ken and the vet said the only reason he survived was because he was kept warm by The Argus.
"We started to give him the name Argus and it stuck."
