A couple of premier UK sax players will be performing locally this week.
Peter King needs no introduction but here goes anyway: Die-hard bebop fans will know this peerless altoist.
In recent years, he has been the obvious choice for the sax chair in Charlie Watts' Charlie Parker tribute quintet and earlier landmarks include work with Bud Powell and Ray Charles.
In a long career he has accompanied performers as diverse as Tony Bennett, Marlene Dietrich, James Brown and Lauren Bacall.
Ben Watt is a big fan and has featured King on several Everything But The Girl recordings.
King will be performing with his quartet on Friday (Sep 6), launching Brighton Jazz Club's autumn season at the Sussex Arts Club.
On Thursday, Lewes Jazz Club will be visited by a favourite of the local scene, albeit one who decamped to Australia several years ago.
Danny Moss is considered by many to be the UK's prime exponent of the weighty Lester Young and Ben Webster-style of tenor.
He is appearing with his partner Jeannie Lamb on vocals, plus a band featuring pianist John Pearce.
On Tuesday, there's a rare lunchtime jazz concert at the Chapel Royal, North Street, Brighton, where one of Brighton's finest young pianists, Joss Peach, will be putting a fresh spin on standards by Gershwin, Cole Porter and Jobim beginning at 1pm.
The same evening in Worthing, local blues trio Smokestack are at the Hare And Hounds.
