For the past six weeks, it has taken me 25 minutes each morning to drive to my office in central Brighton. Now it will take me 50 minutes. Why? Of course, the curse of the school run.

Because of this daily fiasco, I will sit in my car, stuck in a traffic jam, polluting the atmosphere and burning up fossil fuels for the same length of time the journey actually takes.

Those correspondents who are concerned about the environment and the levels of asthma in children would be wise to devote their efforts to clearing up this nightmare.
