Motorbike legend Barry Sheene joined an international field of riders on an array of period machines for the annual Goodwood Revival yesterday.

Tens of thousands of spectators are expected to visit the meeting this weekend and mingle with special guests including Grand Prix legend Sir Stirling Moss and Formula One star David Coulthard.

Sheene, a two-time world motorcycle racing champion, still made an appearance despite receiving treatment for throat and stomach cancer.

The 51-year-old, who now lives in Australia, was diagnosed on July 22, just eight days after competing in a legends race during the British Grand Prix at Donington Park.
