I was at last Thursday's demo. I happen to agree with the stance against Iraq but I also understand other people's views on the situation.

The police at the demonstration were heavy-handed and very lucky there was no riot.

Should the crowd have been the type to react against this type of aggression, the police would not have been so keen to act like intimidating bullies.

It's a shame they are not so keen at doing their jobs properly when it comes to cleaning the city of beggars, drugs and car crime.

Why are we forced to put up with the worst police force in the country?
