Angler Peter Weight caught a red and silver fish off Hove at the weekend and put himself in the record books.
The boarfish, seldom found in shallow waters, is so rare that only one aquarium in Britain has any.
Because it has bulging eyes, an elongated mouth and spiky, vibrating fins, many of us may be glad it's not more common.
