Brighton Bears have been warned not to expect another 20-point blow out when they bid for cup glory on Sunday.
Nick Nurse's men have a home quarter-final with the Newcastle Eagles side they blitzed 119-99 in the league last weekend.
The Eagles did enough to suggest they could pose a real threat this year under the guidance of Fab Flournoy, their new player/coach.
Flournoy played for Bears chief Nurse at Birmingham and has impressed his mentor since taking over at Newcastle.
Nurse said: "Fab has got them well organised. They are hard defensively and he changed some things at the right time to get them back in the game. I'm impressed.
"TJ Walker is an elite guard and their new kid Arinze is as good as there is.
"That gives you two places to go for baskets. You surround those guys with two great shooters in Mavis and Hyatt, you put a couple of role players in there and that's a good team.
"I told my team we got our butts kicked in half court basketball last Saturday and we shouldn't."
Last Saturday's showdown will take some beating. Sparks flew for all sorts of reasons as the Eagles suffered their first defeat in six visits to Sussex.
Bears will hope for a much bigger crowd this Sunday, partly to prove the BBL were right to hand quarter-final honours back to the clubs.
In previous years a place in the last eight meant a trip to Coventry. The move away from neutral venues has been widely applauded and Bears will hope to take advantage.
