East Grinstead and Lewes renew derby rivalries at Saint Hill on Sunday, going head-to-head for the first time in two years.
Two seasons ago Lewes won both matches against a Grinstead side who were relegated from National League division one at the end of the campaign.
Lewes have now joined them in division two, where skipper Will Champness believes there is little to choose between the clubs.
He said: "There are one or two poor sides but I haven't played a side yet who are a great team and anybody, including the two teams I consider to be poor, Peterborough and Blueharts, are capable of beating anybody else on a given day.
"It is not like some leagues I have played in where if you turn up and you have 11 players on the pitch then you win.
"East Grinstead started well but got thumped last week, so they will be keen to make amends.
"In our last three games, we have played the best hockey we have produced so far with this group of players.
"We are confident if we maintain that we will win the game, but old rivalries do come in to it."
Ryan Ibbotson and Matthew Lloyd return for Lewes but Carl Wright is out with a hamstring injury.
