Daniel Webb has rejoined Albion on a month's loan from Third Division Southend.
The teenage target man scored once in 12 League appearances for the Seagulls last season after Peter Taylor signed him on loan from the Shrimpers in December.
Webb will be back training with Albion on Saturday and could go straight into Steve Coppell's squad for Monday night's visit to Wolves.
Albion abandoned plans to make Webb's move permanent for a £25,000 fee once Taylor quit, but boss Steve Coppell has decided to have him back.
Webb, 19, had been out-of-favour since returning to Southend where he was on week-to-week terms after turning down a new one-year contract.
He recently had trials with Peterborough and Gillingham and scored the winner for Southend's reserves in a 2-1 victory at Millwall on Tuesday.
Webb told seagulls.co.uk he was delighted to be back at Withdean and was looking forward to joining up with his old team mates again.
He said: "I really did enjoy my time here last season and I never wanted to leave the club.
"To be linking up with Brighton again - even if it is just for a month - is fantastic and I am going to enjoy that month as much as possible."
