Why have the media never picked up on the huge increase and more suitable working hours politicians have voted for themselves while having the audacity to ridicule firefighters for wanting a living wage to risk life and limb for the public's safety?
I suggest anybody who does not support the firefighters' plight should try the job for themselves before making a decision, especially John Prescott, who should do some thing useful to justify his fat salary.
Unlike politicians, who can pick and choose times of attendance and debates to take part in, firefighters do not have the luxury of choice.
They respond to every emergency and thank God they do. Support the firefighters. What would we do without them?
