The Dionysus Theatre Company triumphed in a version of Electra that was emotionally compelling and subtle in its modernity.
The Greek myth by Euripides was first performed in about 414 BC.
This powerful production had strong performances from its the cast, notably Charlotte Pyke in the title role.
The set and costumes were simple and lighting and music were used to good effect.
The influence of movement director Tasmin Shasha was especially notable.
She allowed the actors to express emotions as much by their movements - which, at times, approached dance - as by their lines.
