Oakwood consolidated fifth spot in County League division two with a 2-1 win away to Saltdean United despite finishing the game with ten men.
In an incident packed match, Oaks took the lead through Chris Hughes six minutes before half time.
Saltdean had a chance to level when Leigh Davis was brought down for a penalty but Peter Simonsen's spot kick was kept out by Martin Brown, his third penalty save of the season.
Hughes made it 2-0 but Oakwood then had Mohamed Shuga'a sent off. Tigers rallied with Davis pulling a goal back but were left to rue a great chance when Adam Burton ran through but then walked away from the ball with only Brown to beat, mistakingly thinking he had been given offside.
Wealden stretched their unbeaten run to five games after a last-minute winner earned them a 3-2 success at home to bottom side Oving.
Teenage centre back Andy Douglas gave Wealden a second-minute lead with a 35-yard piledriver but Oving levelled before half time through Richard Lartey.
It remained that way until five minutes from time when Syd Harman's penalty restored Wealden's lead. Oving responded almost immediately with another cracker from defender Duncan Terry but in the last minute Mark Harman's cross from the left was turned into his own net by a defender.
Wealden assistant-boss Allan Lofthouse said: "It was a satisfactory performance but not in front of goal. We should have scored more goals."
Mile Oak's revival under Anthony Whittington continued with a 2-1 win at Worthing United which lifted them up to tenth in the table.
All the goals came in the last eight minutes with Scott Carden following his hat-trick the previous week with a brace, which sandwiched Ian Browne's reply.
Substitute Junior Lamont set up Carden's winner and the result was all the more pleasing as Mile Oak lost strikers Mike Reilly and Neil Roberts through injury in the first half.
Broadbridge Heath edged clear of the relegation places with an excellent 2-1 win at home to Shinewater.
Goals from Paul Temple and George Alfieri put Heath in control at half time. Lewis Fry replied but Heath held on for only their third win of the season.
