Crawley put up a good display despite going down 4-2 to leaders BBHC in Kent/Sussex division one.
Skipper Terry Higgs gave Crawley the perfect start by notching the opening goal on ten minutes.
Jamie Westwood then went close from a short corner and Higgs had a short corner goal disallowed.
The visitors rallied, drawing level with a goal set up by former Crawley player Dan Lucas before scoring twice more before half time. In the second half Crawley reduced the deficit to 3-2 when Higgs set up Adrian Shuttleworth for his first goal of the season but a fourth from BBHC killed the contest.
Higgs said: "We began well and for 20 minutes I thought this was going to be our day. However, some slack defending left out keeper exposed too much and then in the second half, after pulling a goal back, we made a real blunder to concede the fourth."
Eastbourne twice came from behind to draw 2-2 with Kings College London. Scorers were Angus Williams and Kevin Williams.
Crowborough lost 4-3 to Ashford despite goals from Stuart Clark, Ian Brown and Darren Pulman.
South Saxons' home match with Old Bordenians was postponed after vandals smashed the floodlights at Horntye Park, leaving glass embedded in the Astroturf.
