Albion boss Steve Coppell is hopeful Bobby Zamora will be fit for Saturday's trip to Preston.
Ankle, heel and hamstring injuries have ruled the hitman out of the England under-21 get-together at Burnham Beeches, but Coppell is hopeful his five-goal star will be ready for action at Deepdale.
"Bobby has played in the last two games when in different circumstances he would certainly have not," Coppell said.
"If we'd had a little bit more depth in the squad up front we wouldn't have risked injuring him for a longer period by playing him in the short term.
"We're just hopeful that he recovers quickly and is available for this Saturday."
Graham Barrett and Dean Blackwell both missed the win over Derby after picking up knocks at Wolves but are also expected to be fit.
Barrett's knee injury ruled him out of the Republic of Ireland squad to face Greece tomorrow but Coppell is hoping the lay-off will speed his recovery.
"Having last saturday off will give him that little bit longer time for his body to recover and I know mentally he's looking forward to playing, so that's half the battle."
Cameroon trialist Roger Pandong makes his debut for the reserves in tonight's Sussex Senior Cup tie against Hastings at Worthing (7.30).
Albion's return clash against Derby at Pride Park on December 14 is all-ticket for Seagulls supporters.
