It's a pity that the day after the Countryside Agency unanimously agreed the Designation Order for a South Downs National Park, The Argus put the news at the end of an article on the Falmer stadium site ("Stadium site may lose its beauty tag", November 15).
Surely such an important and historic moment warrants its own headline?
Many people glancing through the paper would not have seen the long-awaited news about the South Downs, especially with the "Albion for Falmer" label stuck on the article.
It is equally regrettable that Martin Perry, who was so quick off the mark to correct The Argus (Letters, November 15) when it muddled its facts on the stadium site, wasted no time in spreading his own misinformation about Village Way North.
He claims the site will be de-designated since "the Countryside Agency has recognised that there isn't really anything very beautiful about it". This is not true.
The Countryside Agency has excluded the stadium site from the National Park because the site was already allocated for development in the 1995 Brighton Borough Local Plan.
The exclusion of the site was not based on a judgement about its landscape quality.
This decision is hotly contested by some but, whatever the outcome of this dispute, the fact remains the Albion still want to build their transport interchange in the proposed South Downs National Park.
Even if the stadium itself is just outside the boundary, it will still be a blot on the landscape.
