As a keen salsa dancer, I can reply to the query from L Forbes (Letters, November 18) regarding the words of the Gibson Brothers 1980 hit, Cuba.
They are singing "quiero bailar la salsa", meaning "I love to dance the salsa".
Any lovers of salsa and Cuban music are well catered for in Brighton and Hove.
Clubs offer dancing lessons most days of the week and local venues often have top Cuban musicians and events.
Recently, we had Cuban films at the Duke of York's cinema, pianist Omar Sasso at the Pavilion Theatre, Cubanite at the Hove Centre and the show Rumba del Siglo is coming to the Dome on December 1.
Before the development of the Aquarium Terraces, summer Sunday afternoons could be spent salsa dancing in the open air to wonderful music.
It was a great attraction for both dancers and spectators and was free of charge, courtesy of the Concorde pub.
Maybe one of the pubs on the Lower Promenade could revive this idea for the summer?
