After seeing the excellent comedy Caught In The Net at the Theatre Royal, Brighton, last Monday, I couldn't wait to see Mike Howard's review (November 20).
But when I read it I was totally stunned. The man must have been in a different theatre or, at the very least, fallen asleep.
There was nothing but continuous laughter throughout this production and nothing but praise during the interval and all around me on my way back to the car park. It was comedy at its best.
I appreciate Mr Howard is a theatre critic but, even so, critics can get it wrong from time to time and sometimes, unfortunately, with drastic results that tend to put people off.
Perhaps if the performances seem old and stale, it is Mr Howard's time to start thinking of hanging up his pencil and not the plays or performers that are to blame.
