C Noyce blames Brighton and Hove city councillors for people parking in George Street, Hove, and the loss of car parking space in the area.
The former George Street shoppers' car park is being removed to allow the construction of a new development that will bring many benefits to central Hove, not least a new primary school.
In addition, Brighton and Hove City Council is working hard to provide a temporary car park, adjacent to Stirling Place, while construction is taking place. This is scheduled to open in early December.
The new Tesco car park will provide 230 spaces and there will be a small council-run car park with about 30 spaces off Haddington Close.
It is quite wrong to say shoppers are deserting the area. As well as the ample parking being provided, George Street is very accessible, with good public transport links.
