I don't quite understand C Noyce's points (Letters, November 19).
For one thing, he lives in Coldean, so George Street, Blatchington Road and Church Road in Hove are hardly his shopping streets.
I agree it is a nuisance and inconvenience that the council car park has had to close but this is only temporary and cars have been using George Street for free parking after 4pm for many months, long before the car park closed.
We have also lost the recycling facilities, which for those of us without a car is even more inconvenient.
However, we do hope this will be rectified before the end of the year.
Regarding Boots, the Co-op, Iceland and Woolworth's losing their customers, I don't think this will happen as a supermarket will encourage more trade into the area and there is such a thing as customer loyalty.
Many people still prefer the smaller stores.
