Worthing's eight-match unbeaten run came to an end in disappointing fashion with a 4-0 hiding at Division One South strugglers Ashford Town.
The hosts scored three times in the last 18 minutes as Rebels crashed to their first away defeat in 11 weeks.
A dismal end to the match saw Tom Graves put through his own goal and Rebels concede two other soft efforts.
Ashford, thrashed 5-0 at Worthing in the season's opener, are now fielding a new team and have not lost since their 8-0 humiliation at Bognor a month ago.
Rebels badly missed striker Mark Knee, who was out with an eye injury, while Ben Carrington and Wesley Lopez saw little of the ball after the break as the hosts won the midfield battle.
Ross Davidson drove Ashford ahead midway through the first half and Blaize O'Brien doubled the advantage on 72 minutes.
He accepted a gift after nipping in when Gary Young sold keeper Matthew May short with an attempted back pass.
It got worse for Worthing when Graves, on his own in the left back position, tried to find May with a header but saw it go over the keeper and into the far corner.
Poor defending on the edge of the area led to striker O'Brien sealing Ashford's convincing win four minutes from time.
