Second-placed Lancing lost ground on Eastbourne Town after a surprise 2-0 defeat at home to lowly Seaford.
Teenage striker Tom Callaghan continued his excellent form by scoring twice, the first of which was set up by 16-year-old Tristan Jobe, a surprise call up from the reserves.
At the bottom, Oving finally secured their first win of the season as they beat Mile Oak 3-0.
Callum Britton, son of former Chelsea midfielder Ian, opened the scoring just before half time and Chris Gregory added a second straight after the restart. Victory was sealed by a third from new signing Mark Harris 18 minutes from time.
Mark Harman scored the only goal just before half time as Wealden beat Broadbridge Heath 1-0.
Wealden had much the better of proceedings but Lee Sale wasted a glorious chance to kill off nerves in the second half.
Zak Newman netted twice as Oakwood won 2-1 at Eastbourne United. Newman, who had three weeks off earlier in the season after getting married, continued his return to form with a couple of smart finishes.
Fifteen-year-old goalkeeper Shane Rowland also impressed after being called up for his debut.
Crawley Down eased away from the relegation zone after a 3-1 win at home to Saltdean United.
Darren Tidey scored the first and also had a hand in the second which Graham White scored. Crawley Down had Matt Lake sent off for a second bookable offence before Darren Fryer made sure of victory with a third goal on 70 minutes.
Bas Allen hit a late consolation from the penalty spot.
In the Division Two Cup, Jason Morley hit the only goal four minutes from time as Shinewater Association beat Pease Pottage.
Westfield went through 2-1 at Steyning Town thanks to an own goal and Darrol Parris' 18th of the campaign. Richard Lester had earlier fired Steyning into a half-time lead.
