The Mayor of Worthing has been attending dozens of festive events.
Yesterday, Councillor Eric Mardell was guest of honour at Broadwater CofE School's Christmas show at its assembly hall in Rectory Gardens, before going on to a party at Wraysbury Nursing Home for the Blind in Beccles Road and a carol service by Davison High School for Girls' at St George's Church, St George's Road.
Today, he was due to be at a senior citizens' lunch organised by pupils of Downsbrook Middle School in Dominion Road, which was followed by a VIP reception at the Pavilion Theatre, where the pantomine Dick Whittington is being staged.
On Friday, Coun Mardell's civic day starts with a Worthing Homes party at Chestnut Court, Victoria Road, followed by Worthing Sea Cadets' carol service and awards evening at TS Vanguard, Broadwater Road.
The evening will be rounded off by a concert by Worthing Philharmonic Choir in the Assembly Hall, Stoke Abbott Road, at 7.30pm.
There will be a 2.20pm carol service for peace, organised in conjunction with the Scout Fellowship, at St Columba's Church, St Michael's Road, on Sunday and at 3.45pm, a show called Follow That Star at The Barn Theatre, Field Place, Durrington.
Coun Mardell is attending 11 functions on Christmas Day, visiting the hospital and rest homes in the town.
