The Argus (December 19) had some encouraging news on the crime crackdown. The front page reported the jailing of some teenage thugs and inside we learned of a successful police operation against drug dealers.
Unfortunately, the same issue reported on a 21-year-old student who danced on the roof of a taxi, ran around in his underwear, blagged free food, lied that he worked for charity and played a piano in a store with his feet.
I call this antisocial behaviour by any standards. The problem is this behaviour was actually encouraged and sponsored by the mobile phone firm Siemens to find "Britain's wildest student".
Siemens apparently finds this behaviour admirable. The company should be ashamed of itself.
How on Earth can progress be made in tackling crime when this silly company is encouraging it?
