I left the Victoria Hospital, Lewes, after a routine operation. The care could not be faulted.
I went for my first short escorted walk on a Sunday morning and when we arrived back, there was large box in the porch with a note: "The flowers arrived on the ward just after you left. I rang the flower people not local and they couldn't help. Nor could the PO. So the only option was to bring them myself. I was working yesterday so this is my first chance. I don't know this area well as I live in Newhaven. Happy Christmas."
I have thanked the nurse in question and told her the flowers were from one of my sons in California.
It's one of the nicest things anyone has done for me and I would like to thank everyone in the NHS for the unknown acts of kindness. Happy Christmas.
