I agree with Gerald Spicer (Letters, December 13). We look forward to Gordon Dean's snippets each week and, when I have finished with the newspaper, I cut out Gordon's articles and pass them on to my parents.
They, too, delight in reading about past supporting actors.
I wrote to Mr Dean asking for his help in finding a book about stars and actors from the Thirties, Forties and Fifties.
Unfortunately, he was unable to help me but did reply to my letter within two days and phoned me, too.
I found him to be a very interesting person and a lovely man.
