Midfielder Jason Wimbleton scored the second half hat-trick which keeps Arundel on a high going into Christmas.

The Mullets are still mid-table in division one but a run of one defeat in 17 games makes them the top flight's form side, as well as one of just three Sussex survivors in the FA Vase.

Boss Mike Rowland said: "We are absolutely delighted but we have got suspensions coming up and that will show what sort of depth we have."

Arundel were 4-0 winners at East Preston on Saturday though it needed a superb double save from Andy McCarthy to keep them on terms at the break.

Wimbleton's ten-minute treble included a superb right-foot curler and a couple of cool finishes. Josh Maynard headed home a corner to round things off.

Danny White scored with his first touch in senior football as Burgess Hill beat Wick 6-1 to remain top.

The 17-year-old came on to net in the 83rd minute. His strike added to goals from Matt Geard (two, including a penalty), Andy Lutwyche, Leo Day and Nicky Sullivan. Lee Webber scored a consolation for Wick on the stroke of full time.

Hillians boss Danny Bloor said: "I was without four senior players, Ashley Carr, Sean Edwards, Phil Churchill and Ben Andrews, so I was delighted with the result."

Sidlesham made it three wins in eight days with a 4-1 triumph at Three Bridges thanks to goals from Glen Bridgeman, Matt Latter, Richie Davies and 16-year-old Joe Leggett. Sidlesham had Craig Williams sent off for a second bookable offence before Ian Parker scored a late consolation.

Horsham YMCA and Chichester served up a 3-3 thriller at Gorings Mead but both managers were unhappy to miss out on full points.

Chi were 2-0 up in 14 minutes and cruising as Paul Thomas fired in a free-kick and Roger Moore rounded off a Neil Murfin cross.

Gil Taylor scored twice to level by half-time and, when he latched on to the rebound from Nick Flint's saved shot to complete his treble on 77 minutes, it seemed YM would take the points.

Taylor then missed a great chance to make it 4-2 and YM were punished as Jamie Laidlaw grabbed a deserved Chi point four minutes from time.

Their boss Adie Girdler said: "We outclassed them for 25 minutes but defensively we fell asleep at the wrong times."

His opposite number John Suter admitted: "After 20 minutes I would have taken a point but we would have won if we could have kept the ball in the closing stages."

Hailsham won 2-1 away to Southwick, who had Neil Winter sent off for a professional foul after just 17 minutes.

Winter was dismissed for bringing down Scott French. Ross Southwood scored direct from the resulting free kick but the effort was disallowed as Winter was still walking off the pitch. However, Steve Galt then stepped up to fire home the free kick.

French added a second just before half time and Hailsham held on despite 17-year-old Carl Dunk pulling a goal back in the second half.

Adie Miles fired his 99th goal for Pagham in the 2-0 home win over enterprising Shoreham.

Brett Forden opened the scoring on 44 minutes with a fabulous 30-yard free-kick which flew into the top corner.
