By referring to a group of female singers as a "band", The Argus (December 23) is contributing to the ruination of the English language.
It devalues the achievements of young people who have learned to play instruments.
People are increasingly saying they were "stood" in the street instead of "standing" and were "sat down" instead of "sitting down".
My English teacher would have had a fit.
