Gil Taylor scored twice as Horsham YMCA consolidated second place in with a 3-0 win at home to Wick.
YM had to be patient before collecting the win they deserved. They dominated the first half but Nick Flint and Matt Duffield were both denied by a post while Michael Oakley made a string of fine saves.
The deadlock was broken on 56 minutes when Flint fed Nathan Sleat, whose cross was rifled home by Taylor for his 18th goal of the season. Taylor scored another 15 minutes from time and Joel O'Hara wrapped up victory with a thumping header.
Shoreham made hard work of beating Southwick 3-2 at Middle Road.
Goals from Dominic Shepherd, player-boss Andy Agutter and Darren Annis put them 3-0 ahead by the 48th minute.
Southwick scored twice in a minute midway through the half thanks to Carl Dunk and Ben Milford to ensure a tense finish.
Agutter said: "We were totally in control of the game but then we switched off and they scored two in 60 seconds."
Littlehampton and Arundel fought out a goalless draw at the Sportsfield. The most significant moment came in the first half when Pete Ainsley and Danny McLaughlin were denied by a double save.
In division two, Eastbourne Town won 3-0 away to Eastbourne United thanks to goals from Yemi Odubade, with his 30th of the season, Matt Jones and Leon Cumming.
Ben Burns scored twice as East Grinstead came from two down to draw 2-2 with Crawley Down. Darren Tidey and Matt Baker put Down in control.
Steve Fielding and Dan Jordan helped Saltdean to a 2-1 win at Mile Oak.
