There were a few late scares for Brighton Cougars as they won 93-86 at home to Cardiff Clippers in NBL division two south.
The high-flying Welsh side cut into a 20-point margin to trail by just three inside the last two minutes.
They were furious when their 29-point man Sivdele missed under pressure from what they felt was a foul by Ramy Malik.
The subsequent technical foul helped the hosts settle the contest from the line.
Under-strength Cougars had a 16-0 run to lead 24-6 in the first quarter.
Coach Mike Blatchford said: "I was very pleased with the start. I also thought Paul Lincoln gave us some really good time on the floor.
"I was not so pleased with the baskets and foul shots we gave up in the fourth quarter."
Top scorers were James Anscombe (22), Gareth Morgans (18) and Lincoln (16).
