A couple who found love at sea have celebrated 50 years of wedded bliss.
Kenneth and Alice Brown met when Kenneth swam out to the Brighton Corporation lifeboat she was sunning herself on 100 yards off Brighton beach.
He greeted his lifeboat friend Bob Lawson, who replied: "Hello Ken, this is Alice."
That first meeting was in 1947 and the pair married on December 27 1952.
Kenneth, 79, ran the family newsagent's in Rock Street, Brighton, until 1981.
Alice is a member of the Kemp Town Gardens Club.
Kenneth also describes himself as "a life member of the Alice Brown Fan Club".
