A five-goal blitz in 21 minutes saw Lewes coast to a 5-2 victory over Ashford Town and move into third place in division one south.
The early strikes ended the game as a contest and the visitors scored two consolation goals as they dominated possession.
Lee Newman sidefooted home a low cross from Danny Davis past visiting goalkeeper Tony Wells to open the scoring on five minutes.
Davis was the provider again in the 12th minute for Junior Kamara to head home at the far post and four minutes later Wells could only block Jon Palmer's shot and Paul Kennett was on hand to prod the rebound into the net.
Ashford did not help themselves on 18 minutes after Ross Davidson conceded a penalty for a foul on Dominic Barclay which Newman duly converted.
Three minutes later the woeful defence was undone by another cross as Julian Curnow scored with a powerful header from close range.
To their credit Ashford kept going and pulled a goal back in the 58th minute with a superb free kick that Jim Hibburt curved around a five-man wall.
Davidson was dismissed on 73 minutes for a second bookable offence but Ashford added a second goal five minutes later when Chris Owens' shot deflected in off Davis.
