Flood watches and warnings were in place across Sussex today following heavy rainfall.
The Environment Agency has issued 20 warnings, including some for previous trouble spots in Lewes and Hellingly, near Hailsham.
Only the River Thames had more flood warnings over the weekend, with 48.
An agency spokesman said although there had not been reports of flooding the warnings were in place as a precaution.
He said: "The situation is very worrying.
"We had around an inch and a half (35mm) of rainfall over the weekend.
" There is a lot of farmland under water so we really don't need any more rain."
