I hope the West Pier will be allowed to die with dignity and be spared any further attentions from property developers disguised as conservationists.
After a long and useful life, to be washed away by the sea is a good way to go.
The seafront will change gradually and interestingly and no local resident will lose the amenities of sea views and pleasant promenade walks.
