The Red Cross has caused a stir with its withdrawal of Christmas decorations.
If it does not want to offend other faiths, it could observe all the different festivals rather than ignore one of the Christian festivals and indicate to users of its shops when festivals such as Diwali and Hanukka are.
Why pretend it is not all important to people of differing faiths?
