Many will remember this building, which stood in Queen's Road, Brighton, just round the corner from the top of Church Street.

It is the Odd Fellows Hall, built in 1853 and demolished in 1969. The site is now offices.

Can any readers of The Argus tell me more about how it was used? I have heard the building contained a fine dance hall, which often did excellent business if the Regent Dance Hall, further down the road, was full.

I have also read it was used for medical examinations for servicemen during the Second World War.

What I would really like to know, however, is who the Odd Fellows were and how the building originally came to be built. Do the Odd Fellows still exist? I am sure someone knows.
