Proposals to charge hospital staff in Haywards Heath to park their cars have been delayed to allow more time for consultation.
Plans include a controversial scheme to start charging staff at Princess Royal Hospital.
The Princess Royal car park permit scheme would bring it in line with Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, where staff already pay for a permit.
But staff were unhappy with some of the ideas.
The proposals are now likely to be discussed at the Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust board's February meeting.
