People are trying to profit from the partial collapse of the West Pier in Brighton by selling pieces from it on the internet.
But their plans to plunder the pier look like collapsing faster than the structure itself as few customers are prepared to pay pounds for old planks.
It would serve these profiteers right if their plans were washed up - like the pieces of wood they are trying to flog.
