St Andrew's in Waterloo Street is one of the most beautiful buildings in Hove, yet few people have seen the inside for 12 years.
Now the good news is that it is reopening as a community venue and a destination for heritage trails.
The church was an early work by Sir Charles Barry who went on to design St Peter's in Brighton, the Royal Sussex County Hospital and finally the Houses of Parliament.
The Churches Conservation Trust was right to spend £100,000 on renovating this church so that people can see the wonderful interior.
Its work has stopped deterioration in the historic structure and regular use will help preserve the building.
The Brunswick area of Hove is also in need of more buildings which can be used for community events and concerts.
