Hastings United ended a desperate run of eight successive defeats with a 2-1 win at home to Grantham Town.
The three points saw Hastings move five places up to 11th in the premier division.
A goal in each half from Steve Yates and Nick Hegley saw off a Grantham side also struggling for form.
Hastings opened the scoring on 16 minutes when a Paul Ruddy snapshot was fumbled by the keeper and Yates followed up to fire home the rebound.
Ruddy did well at the other end to block two goalbound efforts in rapid succession as Grantham threatened an instant equaliser.
The visitors should have restored parity when they were awarded a penalty for a foul by Adam Flanagan but Gary Bull's spot-kick flashed wide.
Hastings doubled their lead midway through the second half with a stunning goal which began with a goalkick by keeper Dave King.
Landry Zahana-Oni played in Graham Webb whose crossfield pass found Danny Simmonds. He in turn set up Hegley whose finish crashed low into the net.
Bull hit a consolation for Grantham in the fourth minute of added time.
Eastbourne Borough manager Garry Wilson is hoping for a bumper gate at Priory Lane on Saturday when team-of-the-moment Farnborough visit in the FA Trophy.
Wilson said: "Arsenal (in the FA Cup) is an excellent tie for them. Farnborough are going to be splashed all over the papers, on the television and in the media from now on.
"They are hot stuff with the media and hopefully it should help get a big crowd.
"They are the team everyone is talking about and they will bring a lot of their own supporters as well as the people who turn up from around here to see them.
"It will be the first time we have had a Conference side at Priory Lane so this is a big first for us and another step forward for this club."
Farnborough will have a trio of former Crawley players making their return to Sussex in Danny Carroll, Justin Gregory and Joff Vansittart.
