A drunken man was arrested by police after he urinated over a woman's feet in the street.
John Spicer, 22, of Cornwall Avenue, Peacehaven, admitted being drunk and disorderly when he appeared at Brighton Magistrates' Court.
He was fined £75 and ordered to pay £50 costs.
The court heard that police in West Street were alerted by a woman complaining about Spicer during the early hours of December 21.
He was arrested and handcuffed and, during the journey to the police station, became abusive. He was held in custody overnight.
Shah Amin, defending, said Spicer had been drinking heavily at a Christmas party with work colleagues.
He said: "He is embarrassed and somewhat ashamed of his behaviour."
District Judge Ann Arnold said: "It is a particularly nasty incident of drunk and disorderly.
"It was most unpleasant for the person you urinated over."
