Plans have been revealed for a new church in Angmering.
The vicar of the village's St Margaret's Church has announced plans to start a "church plant".
Writing in the current edition of Insight, the parish magazine, the Reverend Mark Standen, said: "This may be a new idea to you so let me explain it to you.
"When a church becomes quite big it can start a new congregation in a different location. The hope is that there will then be more space in both locations for new people to come to join the services, both at the mother church and the plant."
The new congregation will meet at the village primary school, St Margaret's.
Mr Standen said the idea for the new church came about because of the size and the popularity of St Margaret's and the new Bramley Green 600-house estate.
He said: "We believe some of these children and their parents may feel happier attending services in a place they know and feel comfortable with, namely the school hall.
"We also think that some families will appreciate having services at a different time in the day, since Sunday mornings can be difficult given the range of other activities on Sunday mornings."
He said the new plant church would be up and running by Easter under the leadership of St Margaret's curate Matthew Payne.
