I have read the letters expressing concern at the architecture of the proposed new development at Preston Road, Brighton.
I believe people who live nearby should be far more concerned about the lack of parking provision within the development.
There are to be 74 flats with provision for only 12 parking spaces.
We who live on the edge of Brighton and Hove's parking restrictions already have to deal with people who work and shop in the city parking their cars outside our properties before 9am and then getting a lift or a bus or walking to the shops or work to save the high cost and stress of parking.
This development without proper parking provision will increase the problem beyond all reason. Each flat will have a car and these cars - except 12 of them - will be parked in the surrounding streets.
If we, neighbours to this site, should object on any grounds, it should be on the lack of parking provision. There should be at least one parking space for each flat.
