I was interested in the article about Iraq (The Argus, January 7).
Sixty years ago this month, the 2nd Battalion Royal Sussex Regiment ABD was stationed in Iraq until 1945.
We were known as PIA Force. Nothing has been recorded since the Second World War of our existence.
We were there for the oil wells and, later, in Iran guarding the supplies to Russia.
