I live in East Brighton and am extremely disappointed in the lack of dog-poop bins in the area.
I walk my dog for miles around Brighton every day, mainly alongside the racecourse and in East Brighton Park.
I also walk on the playing fields of Whitehawk. In this whole area, there is only one dog bin.
This means that I, being a conscientious dog owner, have to walk for miles with my scooped poop before finding a bin to dispose of it.
The one dog bin that does exist on the playing fields is rarely emptied so is usually surrounded by a stack of poops in bags.
As a result of all this, everywhere I walk I see dog mess. I walk with my baby in a buggy and have to spend time nearly every day cleaning the buggy wheels before entering my house.
It is the owners' responsibility to pick up dog mess but surely Brighton and Hove City Council can make it easier for us?
I would like to ask readers to appeal to the council for more dog bins around playing fields and footpaths - also to empty the ones already existing more often.
Dog mess affects everyone.
