Do you want the good news or the bad news? The bad news is Our Thing will no longer be our thing as it struts out of the Volks for the last time.
The good news is Black Grass (Mex and Carl Faure) from Catskills Records are taking over the Saturday night reins for a new night called (drumroll please) ... Grass Roots.
It promises a night of eclectic but uniformly excellent music with hip hop, house, jazz, funk, reggae, disco, garage and beyond.
The new night will span the decades as the DJs dig for those dance hall gems from the past, presenting them alongside music for the future.
The organisers say the booking policy is based purely on merit, not on what might have appeared in the style and music magazines.
Be certain to expect no-nonsense dancing and a fair few drinks promotions to boot.
Don't dress up to get down.
It runs from 10pm to 2am. Admission costs £7/6 (£5 before 11pm). Tel 01273 682828.
