So, moves are afoot, supported by Ivor Caplin MP, to try to change the name of this constituency from "Hove" to "Hove and Portslade".
Far better, surely, to change the name to "Brighton, West".
This would reflect the reality of where we are both geographically and politically. The former Brighton and Hove areas are now firmly part of the one city and the more this is reflected in our image to the outside world the better.
