It is always a pleasure to see political debate taking place in The Argus, as occurred on January 7 in relation to whether or not to change the name of my parliamentary constituency to Hove and Portslade.
However, I cannot allow Councillor Oxley to mislead readers.
He alleged the last review of parliamentary boundaries took place in 1997. This is not true.
The review of boundaries took place in 1994/95 when the Conservatives were in control of Hove Borough Council and they took no action to include Portslade at that time in any of their evidence.
I would be delighted to hear from constituents either by calling 01273 292933 or
by email at caplini @parliament.uk as the debate on this issue develops.
